Medical Standards:
i. General: Candidates must not have squint eyes, and should possess high color vision. Varicose vein shall be considered a temporary disqualification. He/ She must be in good mental and physical health. He / She must be free from any physical deformities and free from diseases such as diabetes, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases or any other ailment that is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
ii. Eye Sight: The distant vision should be 6/6 for at least one eye and not poorer than 6/9 for the other without correction. Near vision should be normal.

Selection Procedure: Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respects will be called for a written test which will be conducted in all the District Headquarters. The candidates will have to appear for the Written Test in the district of his/ her present residential address. The Chairman reserves the right to change the venue of the test and no representation etc. will be entertained in this regard. Before entering the examination center, biometrics of each candidate will be done.

The written test will be of 100 marks and will be completely OMR based. There will be 100 questions and each question will be of 1 (one) mark. There will be negative marking of ½ mark for each wrong answer. The questions will be set in three parts:

(i) Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension
(ii) Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India and
(iii) General Knowledge.

Candidates will use black or dark blue ball pen to answer the OMR based answer sheet. Duration of the test will be of 3 (three) hours.

Candidates numbering only 5 times the number of posts in respect of each category (Unreserved, S.T. (P), S.T.(H), OBC/MOBC) both male & female will be called for PST (Physical Standard Test) and PET (Physical Efficiency Test) on merit basis. A list will be published in the Assam Police Website as well as in leading dailies of Assam.

Physical Standard Test: After the Call letter and the identity are found correct, the candidates will be asked to appear in the PST. The PST will carry no marks. Measurement of the height, weight, and chest (only for Males) of the candidates will be taken after which the candidate will be inspected by a medical officer for a preliminary checkup like the knocked knee, vision test, color blindness test, flat foot, varicose vein, physical deformities etc. Varicose vein shall be considered a temporary disqualification. Once a candidate clears the PST, he/she will have to appear in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Physical Efficiency Test: The Physical Efficiency Test will carry 40 marks. It will have 2 (two) events viz.
a) 1600 meters race for male candidates and 800 meters race for female candidates.
b) Long Jump - for male 335 cm (minimum) and for female 244cm (minimum), 3 chances (longest valid jump will be considered).

Male candidates:
a) Race: Those who qualify in the PST will have to appear in1600 meters race to be completed within 450 seconds. Maximum qualifying time 450 seconds.
b) Long Jump: Minimum 335 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).

Female Candidates:
a) Race: Those who qualify in the PST will have to appear in 800 meters race to be completed within 240 seconds. Maximum qualifying time -240 seconds.
b) Long Jump: Minimum 244 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).

Application Fee: There is not an application fee found in the advertisement.

How to apply: Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through Assam Police official website www.assampolice.gov.in. No other forms of application will be entertained. A facilitation center will be opened in the office of the District Superintendent of Police in each district with a staff to help the candidates in submitting an online application.

Selection Process: Candidates whose applications are Sound correct in as respect will have to undergo the Physical Standard Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET). If any candidate is found to have any physical deformity detected by the Medical Officer present in the Selection Board he/ she will be debarred from participating in the other tests.

How to apply: Candidates will be required to submit an online application through Assam Police official Website www.assampolice.gov.in. No other form of application will be entertained. All candidates will have to appear in Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET). The candidates applying online will get an acknowledgment slip with an id, number which can be printed and will also get the information through SMS and email. Candidates whose application is found to be in order shall be called for PST/PET. The Candidates will be able to download the Admit Card/Call letter by furnishing id. number already allotted to the candidates at the time of submitting applications. Venue wise and the date-wise list of candidates (showing id. nos. only) will be uploaded in www.assampolice.gov.in. The information will also be sent by SMS to the mobile number and to the email address Furnished in the application form.

1) If a candidate appears in the Tests from more than one venue or makes an attempt towards that end, his/her candidature will be canceled forthright for ALL venues.

2) The educational qualification, birth certificate, and caste certificate are to be uploaded with the application form. Moreover, when the candidate reports at the venue on the date and time for Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test, he/she must bring all essential-documents in original along with one set of attested photocopies of the same. Any incorrect information or document submitted which is not genuine may disqualify a candidate at any stage and may also render him liable to criminal prosecution. Original documents of a candidate may be put to check at any later stage of the recruitment process.

Polytechnic Admission Test Assam 2018 notification for registration to appear PAT 2018 for admission into Diploma Courses.

Online applications are invited from the candidates who are Permanent Resident of Assam for registration to appear in the Polytechnic Admission Test 2018 for admission into Diploma Courses in the following State Government Polytechnics of Assam and Polytechnics outside Assam (against seat allotted by the Govt. of India)/ Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Sivasagar( a Govt. of India Institute) for the session 2018-19.

Name of examination: Polytechnic Admission Test 2018 Assam

Qualification:
Candidate must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subject with –

1. 40% marks (average) in Mathematics and Science for General Candidates.
2. 35% marks (average) in Mathematics and Science for Schedule Caste Candidates.
3. 33% marks (average) in Mathematics and Science for Scheduled Tribes Candidates.

Age:
1. Candidates should be born on or after 01-08-1998 (General)
2. Candidates should be born on or after 01-08-1995 (SC/ ST)
3. For Institutions outside Assam (against Govt. of India allotted seats) the upper age limit is 21 years as on 01/08/2018.

Application Fee: An application fee of Rs.400/- (plus bank charges as applicable) is to be paid using “State Bank Collect” which facilitates payment through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking. Payment may also be made in cash at any State Bank of India after generating the Cash Deposit Form from “State Bank Collect’ in the final step of Online Application. Further instructions will be available during the online application process. Candidates are required to carefully follow the steps while registering online.
